Our community

St Paul’s is a cosmopolitan Australian Lutheran Christian community located on the east side of the Sydney CBD, in the suburb of Darlinghurst adjacent to Hyde Park. At St Paul’s, people from all walks of life, ages and nationalities gather to receive God’s love through hearing his word and his sacraments, and respond to his love in worship, serving, caring and respect.

Our focus is on Jesus and connecting people to him by:

  • welcoming people of all backgrounds
  • serving the communities around us
  • celebrating God's kindness and love
  • actively sharing the message of Jesus Christ in relevant ways.

We love being a community that spends time with each other and God, serving each other and others in the places we live, work and play.

Meet Tom Allen, one of our members

Through the Holy Spirit, God has provided me with guidance, courage and wisdom to understand and face the issues and difficulties in my life. I am encouraged knowing that he has a purpose for me and that he is always with me. For the people I meet every day, I am conscious that I may be their last or only thread to know about eternal life through Jesus Christ. I try to BE Jesus to the people I encounter, not by talking Scripture but by loving them as Jesus would.
